The French Woman

I felt encouraged by my work on "Eve of Long Beach" and made another head. I thought that my wife will be able to sit because I need to figure out the proportions to be used. She did indeed sit for a little while but had to attend to other matters. I worked alone on the head and next day I brought it to the studio where the reception was very favorable. Some students said : "She looks like a French woman!". I called the piece "The French Woman". Anita, my teacher, wanted to show me how to make a mold. She helped me in the process and eventually we cast the piece in plaster of Paris.
